Days Off Work

Wed Feb 27, 2008, 4:27 PM
Man I love days off work like this.

Got the music going in the background whilst typing away with my cat on the bed and hearing the patter of rain outside with the soft caw's of the birds and crows.

Just so nice :) A real change from the splash of the pool water, or the roar of the mower, or the noise of my car's engine.

"But stay a while and then maybe you'll see a different side of me" - Matchbox 20.

Got that song going, love it :aww:

So how's everyone been going? I've just been working away, still growing in God but struggling a little with a few things. Nothing God can't overcome though ;) Welcome back to my mate Topfox, he's back in Australia and it's good to have him back.

What's On

- Thursday, 28th February: My friend, Carla's, birthday and dinner at the local Chinese restaurant! CHINESE! :D
- Saturday, 1st March: Gold Coast Triathlon, work mates 40th dress-up (I'm going as Willy Wonka, expect pictures! :P)
- 6th to 9th March: My trip to Sydney :) Going to hang out with my cousin for the weekend. Kind of felt like going for a small trip elsewhere and hanging out with someone. Mum's going down for a women's conference anyway.

What's Done

- Work, work, work :P
- Part Six of my latest book just in. Called 'Revenge in Leather'. Not sure how it is since it's been a while since I've written anything that big (like 18 months! :O).
- Three memoirs of my experiences since committing my life for God's purpose.

Featured Artist Of The Month (February)

:icondcjosh: This guy is a pro-Transformers dude! It's all the old-school type, but new comics :) Looks awesome. Really nice work, and definitely worth a watch if that was as part of your child hood as it was mine :P

Other than that, I'm out I think. Enjoy your day and what not!

Wait

Mon Dec 18, 2006, 2:51 AM
  • Mood: Hope
Someone made something very clear when she sent me this poem. God spoke directly to me, hopefully He may for you :) It's called "Wait", enjoy...

Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried:
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait".
"Wait? You say, wait! " my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers, I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened? Or have you not heard?
By Faith, I have asked, and am claiming your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate
hangs in the balance, and YOU tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
And Lord, You promised that if we believe
we need but to ask, and we shall receive.
And Lord, I've been asking, and this is my cry:
I'm weary of asking! I need a reply!
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."
So, I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut
and grumbled to God, "So, I'm waiting.... for what?"
He seemed, then, to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine,
And he tenderly said, "I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens, and darken the sun.
I could raise the dead, and cause mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you would be.
You would have what you want~~But, you wouldn't know Me.
You'd not know the depth of My love for each saint;
You'd not know the power that I give to the faint;
You'd not learn to see through the clouds of despair;
You'd not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there;
You'd not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence were all you could see.
You'd never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove;
You'd know that I give and I save.... (for a start),
But you'd not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.
You'd never know, should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that "My grace is sufficient for Thee."
Yes, your dreams for your loved one overnight would come true,
But, Oh, the Loss! If I lost what I'm doing in you!
So, be silent, My Child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though oft' may My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious answer of all is still, "WAIT."

Stupid Patch...

It's my day off for the week and ALL I wanted to do today was play my beloved World of Warcraft -- BUT, they did all this maintenance on it last night and when I got on this morning to play, it said that there's a patch available and guess how big?

492 MB!

There goes my fun for the day... So I guess I'll be heading down to Blockbuster and gettting some movies out now for me and my brother to watch. So nay to patches, you wrecked my only day off :( Haha, 2.5 MB of 492 MB at the moment.

In other news, I'm going to see the swimming World Trials tonight! :D

I've also entered a competition to go to the World Championships so hopefully I win, because I REALLY WANT TO GO! But final prices were $198 for good seating - per night! Plus air fares and accomodation for a week, it just wouldn't be economical considering I'm going to Perth a few weeks later.

Anyhow, that's it for me. Just wanted to have a good winge about stupid patches =P

Hey all, excuse my absence, I've been having a very interesting time. Poetry and prose for me has dwindled quite a bit amongst being diagnosed with minor chronic fatigue and a respitory illness. You'd think that poetry would help in a time like this, but I didn't feel like it and just got on with it.

Things are starting to get a lot better now after giving everything over and my energy levels are starting to pick up again, it's great. Swimming is still in a stagnant stage but will pick up when this is finally over, and I've even started to write some fantasy prose.

My addiction to World of Warcraft has inspired me to write a fantasy based on my little gnome mage character, Frinzid. So yeah, I've been working a bit, only been out and partied once because of energy levels and stuff, and just enjoying my brief time of a break.

The World Swimming Trials start on Sunday, and although I'm not swimming - DAMN! - I am going with a friend who I haven't seen in ages. We're both swimming fanatics and it should be great. Anyway guys, see you all later.
